Description

TM 24 NW KESGRAVE MAIN ROAD 1/11 Grange Farmhouse (Formerly listed as "The 16.3.66 Grange") - II Farmhouse, late C16, with alterations of C18, early C19 and early C20. The C16 core is of 3-cell cross-passage entrance plan form. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed, encased early C19 in red brick, now painted on the north side. Slated roofs (the south face plaintiled). Internal and end chimneys of red brick. Early C19 windows with small-pane sashes, some replaced early C20 by oak casements with leaded lights. Early C20 flat-roofed entrance porch with boarded door. The C16 work has good close-studwork with arch-bracing. Wind- braced clasped-purlin roof. A service wing was added to north side in early C18 of red brick, now mainly plastered. The parlour was extended to left in early C19 and a single-storey addition made to the service wing.
