2/4 Lower Grove Farmhouse - (including attached screen walls)

Farmhouse. Early C19; possibly dated by a stone by the gate inscribed 'GS 1806'. Red brick with white brick facing to the facade; hipped roof, slated to front, the remainder pantiled. 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 3-bay facade: slightly inset sash windows with glazing bars under flat brick arches. Doorway with double 3-panel doors, plain semi-circular fanlight and reeded architrave; Roman Doric portico on fluted columns and pilasters. Wide boarded eaves; 2 flat-roofed dormers. 2-bay returns. Flanking the house are curved screen walls set forward, each with a recessed semi-circular headed panel.
