Description

TM 47 SW THORINGTON 3/33 Laundry immediately south - of Laundry Farmhouse (including adjoining cottage to south) GV II Laundry for Thorington Hall, now disused. Early C19. Red brick, roof of glazed pantiles. Single storey. 2 window range, tall 2-light casements with pointed arches and Y tracery; recessed entrance bay with pointed plank door. Adjoining to the south is an early C20 cottage built to house laundry workers: red brick, slated roof; 2 storeys; 2 window range, 2-light casements, boarded door. A rare survival of a purpose built estate laundry. Listing NGR: TM4186073864
