Description

TM 36 SE BENHALL 2/4 Old Lodge 25.10.51 - II Probably originally part of the service buildings of the old Benhall Lodge, adapted and enlarged to become a farmhouse when the present Benhall Lodge was built on a new site in 1810, C18 with early C19 wing to east. Main range: red brick, plaintile roof. 2 storeys. South facade with 4 window range, various casements, flat arches; 2 blocked doorways; brick band at first floor level, plaster cove cornice. At the west end was a brewery/laundry (now derelict) with timber lattice work and internal hinged shutters to window openings. East wing: white brick, slated roof. 2 storeys. 2 window range, sashes with glazing bars in cased frames, flat brick arches; brick pilasters, brick band at first floor and eaves levels, plaster cove cornice, pedimented gables. Modern glazed door to south, 6 panel door with rectangular fanlight to north. Listing NGR: TM3684161996
