Description

TM 15 SE SWILLAND CHURCH LANE 1/17 Swilland Hall - II House. C16 with alterations of early C17. 2 storeys. Timber-framed and plastered. Concrete pantiled roof with internal chimney of red brick. C20 small-pane casements. Early C19 1-storey slated entrance porch of painted brick with pair of 3 fielded-panelled doors and elliptical arched fanlight with radiating bars. A 3-cell C16 cross-wing to right has exposed close- studwork, and diamond-mullioned windows, some restored and glazed C20. The hall range is slightly later and has an original open fireplace and attic floor. Both ranges have wind-braced clasped-purlin roofs. The parlour cell to left is of C18 or C19, perhaps a rebuilding of an earlier parlour. Listing NGR: TM1881652993
