Description

TM 26 NE FRAMLINGHAM DENNINGTON ROAD (OFF) 1/63 Framlingham Hall 25.10.51 - II Farmhouse. Early C17; mid C19 mock Tudor front and interior alterations. 2 storeys and attics; 2 wings extend at what is now the rear, but was probably originally the front, to form a half-H. Timber-framed; part rendered; the present front faced in mid-C19 red brick; plaintiled roofs with ornamental ridge-tiles. 2 original brick stacks, set externally on the present front, with rebuilt shafts. The south faces of the wings are finished with fine C17 red brick Dutch gables, ogee curved at the apex; the inner sides of the wings and the central range are lined and painted in simulated timbering. Fluted and pierced bargeboards to gables. The interior has been much altered and Victorianised; no timbering exposed. The roofs of the west wing and the central range have side purlins, and appear to be of one date; the east wing is said to have been raised. Listing NGR: TM2785566054
