Description

MONKS ELEIGH SWINGLETON GREEN 1. 5377 The Fenn TL 9647 54/817 23.1.58 II* GV 2. A C16 building with wings to the north and west. The west wing was largely rebuilt in the C18 with a front of red and blue brick with a parapet and moulded brick cornice. Roof tiled, with end chimney stacks. Two storeys. A raised brick band extends across the front between the storeys. Five window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in flush cased frames. A central 6-panel door has a wood doorcase with pannelled reveals, fluted pilasters and a flat hood on brackets. The wing to the north is timber-framed and plastered with a gable to the front. Roof tiled. Two storeys. Three window range on the east side and one window range on the front. Leaded casements and double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A ridge chimney stack has 4 grouped octagonal shafts on a square base. Listing NGR: TL9619247312
