Description

DALLINGHOO WICKHAM MARKET ROAD TM 25 SE (East Side) 9/63 16/3/66 Moat Farmhouse - II Farmhouse, C16 with C18 wing. Timber framed with colourwashed render and a plaintile roof originally thatched. L-shaped plan. South front: C20 fenestration to the whole. Jettied first floor to left with a 3-light ground floor metal-framed window. Projecting and at right of this is a portion of walling with a 2-light and a 3-light window and at right again is a hall window and at right again is a hall window of plate glass which extends from sill to eaves level of 3x3 panes. To the first floor is a 2- light window to the left hand jettied first floor, a single-light window to right of it and a 2-light and a single-light window divided by a king- mullion at right again. The two attic gables each have a 2-light window. The ridge has a rectangular axial stack at left of centre with vertical bands to the sides and a moulded cap. The C18 added portion at right of the hall window is of single-storey height with an attic. It has a single- light window at far right. The projecting wing at left of this has two single-light ground floor windows and a 3-light first floor window. The left hand flank has a doorway at left and a 3-light casement to right of it. Gabled dormer above this. Left hand gable end: 3-light ground floor window. Jettied first floor with a 3-light window and moulded corner posts showing through the render and a 3-light attic window. C20 moulded bargeboards to the gable. Rear: projecting wing at right of centre with 3- light ground and first floor windows. To right of this is a 3-light ground floor window and to left a 3-light and a 2-light ground floor windows and two single-light first floor windows and at far left a further projecting gable with 2-light ground and first floor casements. Interior: massive ceiling beam to sitting room which has been shaved. Dragon beam to the other ground floor room with slightly cambered ceilings. Jowled wall posts, originally bearing arched braces to the first floor and cambered tie beams. Listing NGR: TM2798254726
