Description

TM 46 SW FRISTON 4/15 Friston Hall GV II Original house built late C17 for Sir Henry Johnson; only part of this survives, with C18 and C19 alterations and additions. Brick, slated roof. 2-storeys. Oldest part has 4 window range, sashes with glazing bars in flush frames, seg- mental arches. First floor string course. Eaves supported on wooden brackets, with decorative boarding to lower edge of roof; chimney with grouped stacks; hipped roof. To the west is a C18 wing in similar style; 2 window range, door- way with pilasters and entablature; 6-panel door with the upper 2 panels glazed, rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. To the north is a lower C19 2-storey extension. Listing NGR: TM4051060313
