Arranged to form 3 sides of a quadrangle, the open side being to the east. Symmetrical 7-bay entrance front, arranged 3:1:3, the central bay set forward and pedimented, with a semi-circular arched carriage entrance. The flanking bays have smaller blind arches on the ground floor, and there is a brick band at springing level across the whole facade. At first floor level there are small square sash windows with square-leaded panes. Brick dentil eaves cornice. On the roof over the entrance is a square clock tower and a bell turret on 8 slender columns, with ogee roof surmounted by a wind vane. Inside the courtyard are various 6-panel doors, some with large 3-centre arched fanlights with Y-tracery; some ground floor lunette windows; 6 3-centre arched carriage entrances with original doors and a 7th in a later extension. Leaded casement windows to first floor. The interior fittings are said to be intact. A fine and remarkably unaltered example of C18 stabling.
