House. c.1600 and C17 with later alterations. Rendered timber-frame and pantile roofs with brick central ridge stacks. 2 ranges at right-angles, one is 2-unit lobby-entry plan, the other 3-unit, and probably a slightly later service range. Main range is 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range of 3-light mullion and transom windows. Similar windows to ground floor with single-light window to centre. Left end is of brick and added later and has a 3-light horizontal sliding sash to the attic. Rear has 2- and 3-light windows including a 2-light horizontal sliding sash and an original 3-light diamond mullion window. This has probably C17 diamond-leaded glazing nailed to it, a rare survival and blocked behind. Right end has a 3-light attic casement and a single-storey extension linking with the other range which is of 2 storeys. 3-window range of 3-light casements over similar to ground floor with part-glazed door to centre left and a single-light either side. INTERIOR. In the 2-unit range both ground floor beams are encased but a 1st floor room has an ogee-stop-chamfer beam. Fireplace openings altered but stack remains. 2-flight newel stair is probably original. Several C18 doors. Roof is intact and has a lower row of butt purlins and an upper row ofwind-braced clasped purlins. The other range has plain joists set flat in one ground floor room and a re-used mid C17 spine beam in another.
