Description

SOUTH ELMHAM ST. JAMES THE STREET TM 38 SW 4/61 Hemplands - II Farmhouse. C17, with C19 exterior. 2 storeys; attic to part; main range and cross-wing. Timber-framed, rendered on the upper floor, red brick facing to the ground floor; clay pantiles. An internal chimney-stack to the main range with a plain red brick shaft on a rendered base. Plain bargeboards to gables. 2-light and 3-light casement windows, some old, with pintle hinges; transomes to the ground floor. C19 enclosed and gabled red brick porch with plaintiled roof; 4-panelled door with top 2 panels glazed. The Adair monogram above the door and in the apex of the west gable. Access refused, but some timbering said to be exposed inside. Listing NGR: TM3130781264
