Description

LINDSEY ROSE GREEN 1. 5377 KERSEY ROAD Chapel of St James TL 94 SE 41/728 23.1.58. I 2. Built about 1250 and is said to have belonged to the monastery which occupied the site of the present farmhouse. A small flint building with a thatched roof. Restored. At one time it was used as a barn. There are lancet windows and a stone arched doorway. The interior has a piscina with 2 stoops. The roof has heavy rafters with braced collars, a moulded wall plate and cambered tie beams. Scheduled ancient monument. Listing NGR: TL9778944378
