Description

BRETTENHAM THE STREET 1. 5377 Rose Farmhouse TL 95 SE 33/208 II 2. A timber-framed and plastered building of C15-C16 origin considerably altered and added to in the late C18 when a 2 storeyed south block was built with a gault brick south front. The north wing is one storey and attics with the timber-framing exposed on the upper part. Roof tiled with part of an old chimney stack and one gabled dormer to the north block. The south front has 3 window range of double-hung sashes with glszing bars and a central doorway with an open pedimented head on shaped brackets. The interior has exposed timber-framing and there is a wall plate with a bladed scarf joint with face pegs. Listing NGR: TL9582053637
