Description

BRUNDISH TM 27 SE 4/3 Valley Farmhouse -- II Farmhouse. Mid C16. Timber framed and plastered with later colourwashed brick to gable ends. Plaintiled roof with mid C20 tiles at the rear. 2 storeys. 3-cell, cross entry type. Various casement windows: to first floor 3 C18 square-leaded windows; some slightly altered original windows with moulded mullions. Mid C20 gabled porch and 6-panel raised and fielded door. Internal stack. 2 later stacks at service end, one against the front wall. Single storey addition to right. The hall has a moulded bridging beam and chamfered joists; the heads of the storey posts have exceptionally ornate carving. Against the cross-passage is a good plank and muntin partition. Blocked square-headed doorways into the service cell from each end of the cross-passage. In the parlour a moulded bridging beam and a good open fireplace with cambered lintol. Some good exposed framing on both floors. Listing NGR: TM2701670946
