Description

EARL STONHAM FORWARD GREEN TM 05 NE 4/107 Weylands 9-12-55 - II Former farmhouse. Late C16 with early C17 parlour wing added to right. Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled roof (sections of concrete plaintiling), with massive C16 or C17 axial chimney of orange brick. 3-cell cross-passage entrance plan. 2 storeys, the cross-wing with attics. Small- pane casements of C19 and C20. C19 6-panelled entrance door, the uppermost pair of panels glazed; open gabled porch on posts. A little framing is exposed internally: a moulded binding joist in the hall; an altered coupled- rafter roof over the hall range which was formerly hipped at the left hand (service) end. Wind-braced butt-purlin roof above the parlour wing. A C19 lean-to extension to left, and other C19 and C20 extensions at rear. Listing NGR: TM0990659926
