Description

STOWUPLAND THORNEY GREEN ROAD TM 05 NE 7/204 - Nos. 44 and 46 -- II Two houses, built as one 3-cell house in early C17 with possible earlier core. One storey and attics. The original section timber-framed and plastered. Concrete tiled roof, formerly thatched; two C19 raking dormers with small-pane casements. An axial chimney with rebuilt shaft of C19 gault brick; another C19 at left-hand gable. C19 casements. Rear entrance door. To right is the hall with close-studding and slightly chamfered floor joists laid flat; the bridging beam has unusual scalloped pattern along the chamfer, and appears to be inserted into a slightly earlier structure.
