-- II
Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17, probably in 2 phases, forming a single long
range. C19 alterations. Timber framed, with a C19 white brick facade with 3
pilaster strips; whitewashed brick to right gable end, the remainder
plastered. Roof of mid C20 plaintiles. 2 storeys and attic. 4 windows,
mullion and transom casements, probably of C19 date; flat brick arches. Lobby
entrance with C19 6-panel raised and fielded door, the upper 2 panels glazed.
One small segmental-headed dormer. A heavy internal stack over the doorway
and a small stack between the hall and service rooms. At the rear there are 2
incomplete original windows with ovolo-moulded frames, one with the remains of
mullions; another window, which seems to be secondary, has chamfered mullions.
Inside the house most of the timbers are concealed. An original ovolo-moulded
external doorway survives in the rear wall.
