Description

TL 96 SW BEYTON WOOLPIT ROAD 4/19 Grange Farmhouse GV II Former farmhouse, built in two main stages: a range of early C17 or earlier at front, and a mid C19 range at right-angles to rear. Earlier range: 2 storeys and attics. 3-cell plan. Timber-framed, encased in mid C20 red brick. Plaintiled roof with C19 crested ridge tiles. An axial early C17 chimney of red brick: 6 attached octagonal shafts, the caps rebuilt in mid C19. Mid C20 casements. Rear C19 range: red brick with diaper patterning in burnt headers. Plaintiled roof with carved bargeboards, spike finials and crested ridge tiles: two gabled dormers with similar details. Two chimneys of red brick, each with 3 octagonal shafts. 2 storeys. 3 windows. Casements with lintelled heads: two splayed bays. Open gabled C19 porch: timber-framed with trelliswork sides, half-glazed panelled door. Listing NGR: TL9387863230
