Description

RINGSHALL STOWMARKET ROAD TM 05 SW 5/168 Hill House - II Former farmhouse, c.1770. Red brick, colourwashed along front elevation; a dentil course beneath the eaves, and a band for most of length at 1st floor. Plaintiled roof with internal end chimneys of red brick. 2 storeys, 4 windows. Windows with flat arches of gauged brick; small-pane sashes with flush frames, possibly renewed in C19. Good original entrance doorway: 6- panelled door with panelled linings; moulded pediment and cornice both dentilled; in the tympanium is a carved device in low relief. Interior not examined, but believed to have, a staircase with balustrading in the Chinese Chippendale manner. Listing NGR: TM0417052141
