EARL STONHAM BROAD GREEN TM 05 NE 4/89 The Elms Farmhouse - II Former farmhouse, early C17. 2-cell lobby-entrance plan. 2 storeys and attics. Timber framed and plastered. Concrete plaintiled roof with original axial chimney of red brick. Mid C20 small-pane casements, and boarded entrance door in gabled clay-plaintiled porch. Complete and well-exposed framing. Chamfered 1st and attic floor joists, laid flat. Good close- studwork. Brick arched fireplaces to parlour and chamber above. Full height newel staircase. Alterations to rear of c.1970.
