5/64 Hill Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably late C16. Rear wing added c.1976. Timber framed and
plastered under a thatched roof. 1½ storeys. 3-cell form. Mid C20 small-
paned casement windows; 2 tall eyebrow-type dormers. Boarded entrance door.
Internal stack with square shaft; a further stack against the left gable end,
set behind the roof ridge. The right half of the facade has a lean-to
addition, probably C18, the roof carried down over it. The frame is in 3
bays, with modest but largely intact studding. In the hall and parlour the
floor joists span the full width of the range; all are set flat, those in the
hall of irregular section. Open fireplace in hall with original lintol.
Clasped purlin roof.
