House. Early C17, altered and extended C19 and C20. Timber frame, plastered.
Steeply pitched plaintiled roof. 3 cell cross passage plan. 2 storeys.
Ground floor: cross passage entrance to right of centre in a C20 gabled porch,
part fielded, part glazed 6 panelled architraved door, 3-light part opening
metal frame leaded pane casements with hoodboards. First floor 4 similar
smaller casements, leaded and part latticed to left. Axial ridge stack to left
of centre, cap rebuilt. Gable end pentice boards, part brick cased to left,
exposed side purlin to right. To rear parlour end has leaded and latticed
casements and a boarded door, service end C19 red brick and pantiled 1 bay
kitchen addition with a rebuilt internal stack, lean-to attached behind. A
C20 2 storey flat roofed addition to rear centre. Interior: C17 panelled
screen between cross passage and hall, original chamfered doorway to service
end; hall has stop chamfered cross axial binding beam and fireplace bressumer,
some exposed studding, some reused C17 panelling in C20 rear addition. First
floor 5-light diamond mullioned window opening, traces of arched braces to
cambered tie beams, reverse curved arched bracing in walling, parlour chamber
inserted C18 axial binding beam on curved brackets. Roof not inspected.
