Description

RATTLESDEN DRINKSTONE ROAD TL 95 NE 3/88 Pegg's Farmhouse II GV Former farmhouse, C17 with possible earlier core. One storey and attics main range; a C17 2-storey crosswing to left. Timber-framed and plastered. Concrete plaintiled roof, probably once thatched; two gabled casement dormers. An axial C17 chimney mainly of red brick, with sawtooth shaft; a sunk date panel in the plinth. That part of the stack formerly beneath the thatch line is mainly of narrow buff bricks. To right is a C18 or early C19 internal end chimney of red brick incorporated with the parapet gable. Small-pane casements of C19 type but probably renewed in mid C20. 6-panelled entrance door, the top pair of panels glazed. Interior not examined. Listing NGR: TL9706359343
