STOKE ASH HUGGINS LANE TM 17 SW 1/81 Hill Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. Mid C17 with slightly later wing to rear on left. Renovated mid C20 with rear addition of 1962. Timber framed and rendered, pantiled roof. 3-cell form. 2 storeys and attic. Mid C20 standard single-paned casements. Small projecting one-storey addition to left. Stack has mid C20 axial shaft. Mid C20 entrance at rear. A section of the rear wall, now enclosed by a later lean-to, has original stippled plasterwork with a pargetted design of linked circles and semi-circles in square panels. This portion of the rear wall shows 2 blocked ovolo-mullioned windows. Interior. Studding and floor joists in main range are concealed. Service partition removed. Hall fireplace rebuilt mid C20. Newel stair, the lower flight rebuilt C19. Upper ceiling of rear wing has plain joists set flat. Roof over main range has 2 rows of stepped diminished butt purlins. Listing NGR: TM1236270192
