Description

WILBY BRUNDISH ROAD TM 27 SW 3/139 Rectory Farmhouse -- II Farmhouse. C16 with late C17 parlour addition. Timber framed, mainly plastered, some colourwashed brick; small remains of plaster panels with herringbone pargetting. Roof plaintiled to front and pantiled to rear. 2 storeys. 3-cell form. 3 windows, mainly C18-C19 casements. Mid C20 porch and entrance door. Internal stack with original chamfered oblong shaft and C19 cap. Later gable-stack to right. Single-storey addition to left with glazed pantiled roof. Good C16 framing at first floor level with tension braces at service end. Former outside gable end wall has a little old plasterwork with simple pargetting. The hall has chamfered joists with run-out stops. Open fireplace in hall. Service end originally divided into 2: chamfered joists with original trimming for stair trap. Newel stairs replaced by mid C20 straight flight. Listing NGR: TM2449771602
