Description

HAUGHLEY OLD STREET (NORTH SIDE) TM 0262 8/98 The Glebe - (formerly listed as The 9/12/55 glebe house) GV II House, probably 1611, as dated on chimney. 2 cell lobby-entrance plan. Two storeys. Timber-framed and plastered. Concrete tiled roof, once plaintiled. A central axial chimney of narrow red brick with sawtooth shaft; on the base is attached the date 1611 in wrought iron numerals. 3-light aluminium casements of 1986, those at ground storey with transomes. Gabled 2 storey entrance porch, probably added in C19; lobed bargeboards and spike finial. C19 entrance door with two narrow panels and nailhead ornament. N.M.R. Listing NGR: TM0267562272
