Description

TL 87 NE EUSTON THE STREET(WEST SIDE) 4/51 Grange Farmhouse 14.7.55 - II Farmhouse. Early C18 and later. 2 storeys. Main range in flint, with string-course, dressings, and diaper-patterns to walls in red brick: fully hipped clay-pantiled roof. Basic 3- cell internal chimney plan, with altered layout. Internal chimney with a recessed panel and corbelled head to the plain shaft. Range of 4 large-paned sash windows with segmental arched heads to surrounds. Off-centre entrance door, half-glazed and recessed, with a semi-circular stilted arch to fanlight and surround. A mid C19 2-storey extension along part of rear wall has a steeply-pitched black-glazed pantiled roof and walls of random kidney flint interspersed with red brick headers. This same finish is carried along the south side and rear of the main range. 3-light casement windows, some with small panes: rounded arches to red brick surrounds. Extending northwards, a long single-storey range of flint outbuildings: clay pantiles, and a lean-to slate-covered veranda supported on posts along the west side. Listing NGR: TL8970279303
