Description

TL 87 SE AMPTON THE STREET 2/10 Nos. 2 & 3. GV II A pair of estate cottages, built in Tudor style on an irregular plan. Mid C19. Random flint, with rusticated quoins and dressings in red and white brick. C20 Roman tiles. 1 1/2 storeys. Ornamental barge-boards to south gable. A large internal chimney stack with 3 rounded ornamental shafts in white brick, each in a different design. Casement windows: one canted bay with tented roof at the north end, 2 square bays along the south side of the rear wing. A gabled dormer on north and east, with drop finial to apex. Enclosed porch with round- arched doorway and plank door, and a similar porch and door for the other cottage on the south wall. There is a small westward extension to the rear range The original pump stands beside cottage no.3. Listing NGR: TL8665371324
