Description

TL 97 NE BARNINGHAM BARDWELL ROAD 1/5 Barn to east of Barningham 14.7.55 House (formerly listed with Barningham House as tithe barn) GV II Former tithe barn to the rectory, now Barningham House. C18, with early C19 extensions and alterations. Timber-framed, partly encased and partly extended in flint and red brick, with an inner layer of clunch blocks along the west wall and on both gable walls. 2 large projecting porches and an added lean-to on the east side. Pantiled roofs: half-hipped to main range, fully hipped over porches. The west wall has a row of diamond-shaped ventilation holes in red brick. Frame in 5 bays, the trusses with some reused timbers. Roof in 12 bays: small principal rafters, 2 rows of stepped butt purlins and a ridge- piece. Listing NGR: TL9662876491
