Description

Site investigation was undertaken at a site at Hamlet Croft prior to redevelopment for residential land use. At the time of the investigation the majority of the site was a disused football ground. To the south and west of the site, a densely vegetated area and allotments, is in the location of a historic railway. To the east of the site, there was a small triangular field which was also subject to a fill/regrading exercise. No buildings were present on the site, however the location of relatively recent demolished buildings related to the football ground (pavilion and stands) were visible at ground level. An intrusive investigation was undertaken as part of the report. Made ground a topsoil was encountered across the site (S1).
