1968-1986: Fieldwalking by Colin Pendleton on field previously fallow for a number of years located scatter of flint, pottery, bone, burnt flint etc.

1968-1986: Fieldwalking by Colin Pendleton located scatter of worked flint etc, mainly Neolithic & Bronze Age in date but including Mesolithic types, usually differentiated from later flintwork by patination.

Excavation in 1935, following surface finds of flint, pottery and bone, revealed a settlement site in the form of an occupation layer down the side of a sandhill, which was sealed by peat and overlay grey-yellow sand.

Finds excavated from mainly BA site included sherd from a Neo carinated bowl (S5).
