1999-2000: excavated finds from ploughsoil sealed beneath hillwash included Rom and (early) Middle Saxon pottery & sceatta.

Oval loop terminal (with small knobs) from a harness fitting of C11 type - comparable to example from East Bergholt published in Archaeology in Suffolk 1994 - found in mainly Rom scatter while metal detecting (S1).

One broken chipped axe, three scrapers, few flakes.

Circular bronze seal matrix showing Virgin Mary seated with infant Christ, inscribed * S'THOME DE KIRKEBI, seal of Thomas of Kirkby, found metal detecting just to the west of a Rom scatter (S1).
