TM 47 SE BLYTHBURGH
4/9 Stables 10m west of Westwood Lodge 25.10.51 (Formerly listed with Blythburgh GV II Lodge as stables)
Former stable block, now used for domestic storage. Late C15/early C16. Timber framed and weatherboarded with red brick gable ends; pantiled roof. 2 storeys. 7 bays. The south gable is crowstepped, with corbelled brickwork to the eaves supporting moulded brick pinnacles on square bases; the apex of the gable has a further moulded brick pinnacle; 2 of the pinnacles are incomplete. Roof with upper row of clasped purlins and lower row of butt purlins, arched wind bracing between; the centre bay shows evidence of a former internal axial stack; diamond mullion window openings to first floor, now boarded over.
