Description

TM 37 SE BRAMFIELD 3/6 Brook Hall (previously - listed as Brookhall 25.10.51 Farmhouse) II Farmhouse. Probably early C17 to west; early C19 to east, this wing probably being added soon after the old Brook Hall (not on this site) was demolished in 1805. T shape plan. East (front) wing: colourwashed brick, plaintiles; 2 storeys; 4 window range, coupled ground to first floor by pilasters: inset sashes with glazing bars to first floor, C20 large pane double doors to ground floor, flat arches; asymmetrical doorway: flat-roofed porch with 6-panel door, fanlight with segmental head; wooden modillion eaves cornice; Dutch gable ends. West (rear) wing: timber framed, largely faced in C18 colourwashed brick, plaintiled roof; 2 storeys and attic; 2 window range, inset sashes with glazing bars, flat brick arches, one mid C20 large pane window to ground floor; doorway with panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, frieze, cornice and inset 6-panel door, the upper 4 panels glazed.
