Description

TM 04 SE CHATTISHAM LOWER BARN ROAD 3/12 Church Farmhouse - II Farmhouse. C16, C17, C19 extended later C20. Timber-framed and rendered, brick, plain tiled roofs hipped to west and north. Complex plan comprising C16 wing aligned north-south, with external stack to south, C17 cross range probably extended westwards C18 or C19, and C20 wing to north. 2 storeys. South front, 3 windows, C19 and C20 sashes with glazing bars in the C17 and later builds, to right the C16 gable with external brick stack. Entrances in right and left hand returns. Axial brick stack. Interior: 2 bay C16 wing with partly exposed frame, with ground and first floor mullion windows with shutter slides, one blocked against C17 range. Chamfered bridging beam with run-out stops. Arch braced tie beam, 3 centre arched doorway, presumably reused, linking C16 and C17 builds. C17 range. Large inglenook fireplace and oven with chamfered bressummer. 2 parallel ovolo moulded beams with jewel stops, lodged into the stack. Listing NGR: TM0930242186
