Description

TL 78 SW ERISWELL LITTLE ERISWELL 3/21 Eriswell Hall - II Two houses. Formerly manor house and farmhouse. C15 or early C16 core with major alterations of several periods. Hall range to right with original cross-wing. 2 storeys. Timber-framed; the upper part of cross-wing rendered and jettied at 1st floor level, other walling encased and rebuilt in mid C19 red brick. Pantiled roofs with external chimneys of gault brick. Mainly mid C19 sash windows; 2 splayed bays at ground floor. C19 panelled entrance door, the upper half glazed with border panes. Open porch on timber posts, with hipped pantiled roof. A good but altered early C18 staircase with moulded handrails and turned balusters. The service wing to left was added late C16 or early C17; timber-framed and rendered with the ground floor walling underbuilt in painted brick. Horizontally sliding early C19 casements. The whole roof was almost rebuilt C18. Listing NGR: TL7203180720
