Description

1. CLARE CLARE 2006 Well Lane (South Side) Membury House and adjoining premises. (Formerly listed as premises occupied by H Hurst and premises adjoining) TL 74 NE 18/97 19.12.61. II GV 2. A C18 red brick house with an early C19 white brick front with a parapet and a stucco cornice, now painted. 2 storeys, attics and cellars. 4 window range, double-hung sashes wmth glazing bars, in plain reveals, with cornice lintels on stub brackets. The ground storey has 1 3-light window and a C19 shop front with glazing bars, pilasters, frieze and cornice. 2 6-panel door have wood doorcases with pilasters and cornices. Roof tiled, witn 3 dormers (2 early C19 segmental headed and 1 C20) and 2 heavy white brick chimney stacks with square shafts. All the listed buildings in Well Lane with Nos 1 to 8 (consec) and No 31 Church Street, all the listed buildings in Market Hill, Nos 1 to 8 (consec) Malting Lane, Stone Hall and Nos 36 to 40 (consec) Nethergate Street and all the listed buildings in Station Road form a group.
