Description

TL 86 NE INGHAM DAIRY LANE 4/22 Dairy Cottages - II A pair of cottages. C18. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed, on a high plinth of small red Tudor bricks, laid in random bond. Brick infill between studs, colour-washed on sides, partially rendered on front. All external timbering is heavily weathered. High-pitched, fully hipped, plaintiled roof. Internal chimney-stack with a plain white brick shaft. The building is divided into 2 matching cottages, each half having a 3-light C19 casement window and adjacent plank door, a higher single window to light the corner staircase, 2 2- light casements to the upper storey, and a gabled dormer set into the roof- slope. A single storey lean-to extension along the whole rear is in square framing, with white brick infill, and pantiled roof. There is exposed timbering inside the cottages, which are empty and becoming derelict. Listing NGR: TL8525269474
