Site Event/Activity record ESF19385 - Monitoring - The Cottage, Broad Street, Orford

Archaeological monitoring was carried out prior to a proposed small extension. A single visit was made when it was possible to examine most of the strip foundation trenches and also the surrounding area of lowered ground. The foundation trenches were dug to a depth ranging between 0.80m and 0.90m and only just managed to cut through the heavily disturbed upper layers. No archaeological finds or features were identified, although due to the depth of the upper layers, archaeology cannot be ruled out.
