Description
A trial trench evaluation was carried out at the above site in advance of commercial development on the site. A total of Fifty-two trenches (total area: 5929m2) were excavated, covering just over 4% of the site. All evaluation trenches were excavated using mechanical excavator. Very few archaeological features were identified and only three were dated as earlier than the Post Medieval period. A small area was recommended for further work in the form of monitoring of soil stripping which was carried out in 2008 (See ESF19620) (S1).
