Description
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the land at 86 Hardwick Lane, Bury St Edmunds. A total of eight trenches, measuring 1m wide and 66.5m in total length, were excavated by a mechanical excavator. The evaluation did not identify any archaeological deposits, indicating that the potential Early Anglo-Saxon cemetery, known from several nearby burials and which is thought to lie in the vicinity, does not extend under the property (S1).
