Description
A thick layer of subsoil was present throughout the site from which a single Later Prehistoric flint was recovered. Trenches were excavated to an avergae depth of 0.64m. The topsoil, a mid-dark brown firable sandy loam, was 0.25m thick overlying mid greyish brown silty sand 0/17m thick. This was on top of another subsoil, a mid brownish orange homogenous coarse silty sand 0.22m thick. The natural subsoil was a clean, coarse orange silty sand.No cut features were identified within the trenches but a few sherds of medieval pottery were collected from the topsoil.
