Description

This archaeological desk based assessment has been undertaken as a result of a proposal for the siting of three wind turbines on land to the north-west of the historic town of Eye, on the site of a disused World War II airfield in the parishes of Eye and Yaxley. This DBA includes an examination of the Suffolk Historic Environment Record, an aerial photographic survey, a historic map and documentary search and a site walkover. This DBA does not include a visual impact assessment of the proposed development on the historic landscape, as this is addressed in a separate report.
