Description

A DBA was undertaken in advance of proposals for the redevelopment of the Grimwade Memorial hall. The chapel building that occupies the site was built in 1896, and has gone through a number of uses as a Congregational Chapel and a Sunday School. The assessment identified the potential for remains relating to 16th-18th century buildings fronting Fore Hamlet and also medieval settlement remains.
