Description
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on land to the rear of Hill Farm, in March 2012, in order to satisfy a condition placed on the proposed construction of a new irrigation reservoir. Twenty-one trenches were excavated on land covering approximately 2.3ha equating to 620m of trenching, at 1.8m wide and 0.35-0.45m deep. No finds or deposits of archaeological relevance were observed in any of the trenches and it is suggested that no further archaeological investigation of this land is necessary to fulfil the condition.
