Description
An archaeological evaluation and geotechnical watching brief commissioned by Mouchel along the proposed route of the A11 Fiveways to Thetford Improvement works. 15 machine excavated geotechnical test pits were monitored all measuring 0.2m x 0.63m x 2.0m. No archaeological features or finds were observed in any of the pits. 13 evaluation trenches were excavated No archaeological features were present in any of the evaluation trenches. A single piece of Roman pottery was present in the subsoil [5] at Trench 2. Two flint scrapers were recovered from the plough soil [30] at Trench 11.
