Description
As a condition of planning permission for a single dwelling , a short evaluation trench c.9m in length was cut to assess the archaeological potential of the site. The very thin topsoil (15-20cm) was directly over – and had a sharp contact with – the underlying chalky clay natural suggesting severe truncation (S1).
