Description
Visit made once footings had been dug. Extension/remodelling extends beyond previous footprint by with total area of disturbance of 6 square meters. Footings of 700mm width excavated to a depth of 1000mm through very mixed deposits of mid brown silty sand with inclusions of modern brick, broken pipe and general building rubble. This would appear to be the backfill from the original building work relating to the construction of the property in the 1970s. Service pipes and cables were observed within the trench. A natural sandy ballast was seen at a depth 850mm. The spoil from the excavated footings was examined.
No archaeological features or finds were noted during this monitoring.
