Description
2015: An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of the proposed development of a sheltered residential development. The site encompassed an area of 6618m².The programme of archaeological works took place from 12 to 15 May 2015. Five trenches measuring c. 20m x 1.80m were excavated within the proposed
development area. All of the trenches revealed evidence of archaeological features and deposits, as well as of geological and other natural features. Very little dating evidence for the archaeological features was recovered, although small numbers of prehistoric worked flints and pottery sherds with a date range of 12th–14th centuries
were collected.
